Our client is a manufacturer of LDPE foil. In his production process, damaged rolls or reels were generated which were not suitable for sale to the end customer. Our client needed large storage areas for waste material, and in addition had very high costs with the removal and recycling of rolls, which he paid to external contractors. Riko Ekos d.o.o. prepared a feasibility study for upgrading the production line with immediate recycling of the waste material without intermediate storage. We supplied a system for cutting, grinding and extrusion of the waste material. After the investment, our client no longer needs storage space for waste rolls, has no costs for the removal of this material and has obtained additional feedstock for the production of LDPE foil. The client’s production process has thus fully reached the level of a circular economy.
