A sorting system for mixed municipal waste itself consists of several machines that are interconnected into a completed whole.

The purpose of the system is to separate as many as possible recyclable fractions or materials from mixed municipal waste. That means that in the first step paper shall be sorted or separated from plastic, metal and non-metal. Each waste material should be sorted separately. In the second step plastic and PET bottles shall be separated (which are separated by quality and by colour).
